the lie that keeps us unavailable, unreachable and unchangeable

I'm sitting on my couch with a half drunken coffee and feeling slightly sick after having had a breakfast of half a dozen chocolate chip biscuits {yes total emotional eating I know!!} Feeling like crap, feeling flat. Just in time to look out the window to see that mum running past all fit and wearing pink with headphones. Oh wow feeling like a whale now!! Am I the only one feeling like this today? And then I think of my friends and picture them in their neat homes (??) with their great morning routine success (??) already perky and ready for the day (????!) Who knows, who really knows.... And I'm on the couch writing. What do we do when we are angry, overwhelmed, emotional?? This morning I yelled, pulled arms too hard, spat harsh words to my husband. stomped and hissed. I missed it. I messed up!! But who really knows? Who see's us at our worst? Our kids... our husbands....who beyond those in our home?? I dont even really know what the point of this is apa

tree stump + castor wheels = fun!!

so at our missions base we work at I've been working on a little corner, and I have to say its been soo fun designing a space from scratch and then seeing it come together piece by piece. Something out of nothing. We are trying to use what we already have then add the extras. In our back yard I've had these Tree stumps lying around for awhile (I've used them as little tables for the kids morning tea picnics) but it was time for a reinvention.... Happy Crafting!! So add a few castor wheels, plus a little sanding and viola!!! instant coffee table!! Now that I've made one for our little corner I think I like it too much to give it up just yet - so I'll have to swipe the other tree truck lying around now :) p.s I was able to reuse the castor wheels shown - but I did track down a set of four from one of those $2 - $8 cheap shops for $6!! bargain!! xoxo

keeping it simple + the best thing + ditching TV = not for the faint hearted*

So about two months ago we ditched TV during the week (90% of the time) and made it a treat for the weekend... Why you might ask? Well for myself I felt like I was using it waay too much as a babysitting tool...I didn't know what else to do with them... survival...the easiest option.... And I guess it just got to the point where it didn't sit well with me and all I could think was... I don't want my 5 year old... 10 year...my 15 year old.... sitting zoned out on a beautiful day. For a long time there we were a little in the dark ages only using tv for dvds and not connected up to a TV supplier... but that didn't lessen the amount I'd let them watch - mainly Mr 4 year old {as Mr 2 year old doesn't sit long enough to watch anything unless its about robots, horsey's, or dinosaurs} The first two days were the worst!!! As our Four year old (mr routine) was not a happy chappy esp in the mornings as his routine had been wake up - put a dvd on - have brea
